We are looking for excellent candidates to pursue PhD with the Faculty of  
Engineering and IT at the University of Technology Sydney, Australia.  
Students will have great opportunities to collaborate with a big team and  
work on Australian Research Council grants and  industry projects with tier-
1 organizations, on emerging data mining topics such as in-depth behavior  
pattern mining, significant dynamics and change analysis, hidden group/
community analysis, complex sequence analysis, etc. We are particularly  
interested in students with strongresearch and/or development background in  
statistics, data mining, machine learning, pattern recognition, artificial  
intelligence, optimization or database. Good coding capability is preferred.  
The student must have a master degree or is expected to secure the master  
degree before the official enrollment at UTS. Full scholarships are  
available for 3 years, plus additional conference fees; opportunities for  
training and working with tier-1 organizations may apply.
