 Members propose Energy Interoperation TC
All interested parties are asked to review and comment on a draft charter to establish the OASIS Energy Interoperation Technical Committee. Energy Interoperation will work to define the interaction of Smart Grids with their end nodes: Smart Buildings and Facilities; Enterprises; Industry; Homes; and Vehicles. Energy Interoperation TC proposers include representatives of Cisco, the U.S. National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST), and others; Mary Ann Piette of Lawrence Berkeley National Labs serves as convener. The member comment period for this draft charter closes 27 April.

OASIS Standard vote opens for WS-Federation 1.2
Balloting for the Web Services Federation Language version 1.2 will be held 16-30 April. WS-Federation defines mechanisms to allow different security realms to federate, such that authorized access to resources managed in one realm can be provided to security principals whose identities and attributes are managed in other realms. This includes mechanisms for brokering of identity, attribute, authentication and authorization assertions between realms, and privacy of federated claims. The specification was developed by representatives of IBM, Microsoft, Active Endpoints, BMC, CA, HP, Nortel, Novell, Red Hat, Skyworth TTG Holdings, SOA Software, TIBCO, VeriSign, U.S. Veterans Health Administration, and others. All organizational members of OASIS are encouraged to vote on WS-Federation; those who wish to discuss the ballot may do so through member-discuss@lists.oasis-open.org.
