The ideal candidate for this position should have a doctoral degree in computer science, electrical engineering, biomedical engineering or applied mathematics. In-depth R&D experience in the past may be considered as equivalent to a Ph.D. Responsibilities: - Apply state-of-the-art Knowledge representation and reasoning, information retrieval, semantic web, ontology, data mining in particular text mining to real world problems. - Quick prototyping, feasibility studies, specification and implementation of advanced knowledge based systems. - Work with customers to understand data and algorithm requirements. Skills & Qualifications: - Ph.D. or advanced degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or 5+ years equivalent in-depth R&D experience. - In-depth knowledge and experience in semantic web, information retrieval, data mining and machine learning. - Well versed in Java or C\C++ and experienced in software analysis, data structure and algorithm design and development. - Proven record in research, innovative thinking, real world problem solving and a hands-on, can-do mentality. - Experience with RDF/RDFS/OWL ontologies and related tools such as Prot¨¦g¨¦, Jena, SPARQL or similar - Experience in Lucene, search engines, questioning and answer systems is a plus - Experience in Python or Perl is a plus - Research experience in healthcare solutions is a strong plus to the position. - Fluent in both Chinese and English.
